SEOUL, Dec. 9 (Yonhap) — K-pop boy group Ateez’s latest album has debuted at No. 2 on the British Official Albums Top 100, marking the band’s highest-charting entry yet.
Ateez ranked second after British singer-songwriter Peter Gabriel with its second full-length album, “The World Ep. Fin: Will,” according to the chart unveiled Friday (British time).
The South Korean group beat such big names as Michael Buble and Taylor Swift to achieve its highest position yet on the chart.
Released Dec. 1, the first full-length album in about four years from Ateez consists of 12 tracks, including the lead single “Crazy Form.”
The K-pop octet is also expected to chart high on the latest Billboard 200 chart to be unveiled early next week.
On the British albums chart, “Golden” by Jungkook of K-pop superstar BTS ranked 71st in its fifth consecutive week on the chart.
Jungkook also put his name on the British Official Singles Top 100 chart for the fifth straight week with “Standing Next to You,” the lead song off the album, at No. 74.
