BTS’ leader, RM, celebrated the one-year anniversary of his debut solo album, ‘Indigo,’ on December 2, 2022. Following the success of his earlier solo mixtapes, RM and Mono, Indigo marks RM’s growth as an artist and reflects his personal experiences through his twenties.
RM describes Indigo as “the last archive of my twenties,” consisting of 10 tracks that showcase RM’s artistry and maturity. The album’s shorter track, ‘Change Pt.2,’ serves as a sequel to RM’s earlier collaboration with Wale in 2017, exploring the concept of personal change. Meanwhile, tracks like ‘Lonely’ and ‘Hectic’ delve into the complexities of life choices and the emotional toll of a hectic lifestyle.
‘Wild Flower,’ featuring 90s rock icon Youjeen, and ‘No. 2,’ featuring K-pop legend Parkjiyoon, provide a Korean-focused perspective to the album, with the latter serving as a comforting conclusion to RM’s musical diary of his twenties.
