Rocky, a former member of ASTRO, has stepped into the spotlight as a solo artist with his debut mini-album, ROCKYST. This K-pop sensation recently shared his journey of creating his own agency after leaving ASTRO, the inspiration behind his solo album, and the special bond he maintains with his former group members.

In a recent conversation, Rocky opened up about his new album, marking his first venture as a solo artist since joining the boy group in 2016.

Overflowing with enthusiasm, he explained that the album’s title, ROCKYST, combines his name, ROCKY, with ARTIST. This choice reflects his desire to showcase his versatility as an artist, exploring various music genres. Rocky discussed the challenges of establishing his own agency, One Fine Day Entertainment, after parting ways with Fantagio. He fondly recalled the heartwarming support he received from ASTRO members, who attended the opening ceremony of his agency office in October. Despite busy schedules, his fellow members stayed until morning, expressing their joy for his milestone. ChaEun Woo, unable to attend, sent a congratulatory flower wreath.
Reflecting on his connection with ASTRO, Rocky reminisced about his trainee days with the late singer Moonbin. Following Moonbin’s unfortunate passing, ASTRO members stood by each other. Rocky shared a poignant dream he had of Moonbin, providing comfort through the words spoken. Drawing strength from this experience, Rocky plans to dedicate a song to Moonbin in the future.

Rocky’s latest album showcases his growth as a musician, as he actively participated in writing lyrics, composing, and producing all six songs, spanning genres like pop, funk, and R&B. At an event, he performed the title track, ‘LUCKY ROCKY,’ and another song, ‘Chameleon,’ from the album. Fans have continued to shower Rocky and ASTRO with their heartfelt wishes and support.
