KUALA LUMPUR: BlackPink’s Jennie Kim has achieved a historic milestone as the first female K-Pop singer to garner 20.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify. This surpasses the numbers of BlackPink as a group.
Reported by Allkpop yesterday, this achievement makes her the first female Korean solo artiste to reach such heights on the streaming platform.
Her fellow BlackPink member Lisa Manoban is another female K-Pop soloist on Spotify to have surpassed the 20-million monthly listener mark.
Their strong presence on YouTube is also evident, with Jennie and Lisa approaching a billion views with their current hits Solo and Money.
Based on view count trends, it is predicted that Jennie will reach this milestone first in early 2024, with Lisa following suit by July 2024.
