Cantopop girl group Me& recently made their debut with the single “Eye to Eye” under the music label Media Asia Music. The trio, consisting of members Vian Lin, Mandy Tam, and Feanna Wong, had been working together for two years before their debut. Their first live performance of “Eye to Eye” took place at the Wonderland outdoor venue in Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District.
Before joining forces, each member had been building their solo careers. Tam, who has 145,000 followers on Instagram, has been collaborating with other artists and appeared in music videos, while also showcasing her love for basketball on social media. Lin, with over 65,000 Instagram followers, spent time as a dance trainee in South Korea prior to joining the group.
Wong, who is the most experienced musically, debuted in 2015 at the age of 14. She has also delved into modelling and built her online presence over the years. The group has documented their journey to debut on YouTube in a video series called Keep Your Eyes on Me&, sharing the rigorous training they endured.
Me&’s debut single “Eye to Eye”, heavily influenced by K-pop, was recorded and produced in South Korea. Featuring energetic choreography and an upbeat tune, the song provides a fresh take on Cantopop. The group’s style, showcased in their music video and official Instagram page, leans towards the youthful Y2K aesthetic popular in South Korean entertainment culture. Whether in girlie pastel pinks and purples, or more utilitarian outfits, their ensembles reflect these influences.
