Johnny Suh from K-pop band NCT 127 recently attended a book signing and cocktail party in Seoul, hosted by designer Thom Browne. The event was a celebration of Browne’s 20th anniversary, and Suh showed his support by wearing a head-to-toe Thom Browne outfit. His ensemble included a classic white Oxford shirt, a skinny gray tie, a green paisley print cardigan, a shrunken navy blazer, gray trousers, sailboat-print socks, and black Oxford shoes.
Suh, who is a rapper and vocalist for NCT 127, has gained increased fame, particularly in the American market, as K-pop’s international popularity has grown. Besides Thom Browne, Suh is known for his support of other American designers and the American fashion industry. In May 2022, Suh attended the prestigious Met Gala in New York City, wearing a design by Vietnamese American designer Peter Do. His outfit for the event included a long satin black tailcoat with silver detailing, a matching suit underneath, and black military boots with a metal toe tip.
Browne’s exhibition at 10 Corso Como showcases his two-decade-long journey as a designer and features eight of his most notable runway looks. Following the cocktail party, actress Youn Yuh-Jung and Browne had a discussion about some of the highlights of his career at the Leeum Museum of Art. This year has been a significant one for Browne, as he presented his first couture collection at Paris Couture Week in July. The collection was described by WWD as a theatrical and melancholic extravaganza, with subtle touches of humor beneath the mostly gray aesthetic. The day after the show, Browne secured 20 client appointments for the collection.
