For the second week in a row, Jung Kook claims a pair of spaces on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart, managing a feat that remains somewhat uncommon for even the biggest stars in music—and that’s especially true when looking at South Korean artists.
The BTS singer appears on Billboard’s weekly ranking of the most successful songs at pop radio in the U.S. with a pair of tunes, as both of his 2023 solo singles are still doing well enough to chart. Jung Kook’s latest release, “3D” with Jack Harlow, advances this frame, rising to a new high of No. 30. Last week, the tune debuted at No. 34.
At the same time, his previous smash “Seven” is working its way down the Pop Airplay chart. The former Hot 100 ruler slides back from No. 25 to No. 35. A 10-spot decline on the 40-spot tally is a big dip, and it’s a sign that radio programmers across the U.S. have likely moved on from his previous major win and are now ready to focus on “3D.”
Jung Kook is one of only a handful of names who occupy more than one spot on the Pop Airplay chart this week. He’s tied with fellow superstars Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, and Justin Timberlake, who all also snag two spots for themselves. In Timberlake’s case, he has a solo hit (“Keep Going Up” with Nelly Furtado and Timbaland) and one with the boy band that made him a star, NSYNC (“Better Place”).
Among all musicians, Olivia Rodrigo leads with the most charting hits, as three tracks from her album Guts are present on the list.
Jung Kook currently claims the record for the most appearances on the Pop Airplay chart among South Korean solo artists. He has thus far placed four tracks onto the list aside from his work with BTS. The band that made him a star rules when looking at all K-pop names, as the septet has sent nine different cuts to the Pop Airplay chart.
