K-pop megastar Lisa has a billion reasons to celebrate after claiming an incredible record with her solo music.
Her song “MONEY”, a B-side to her debut single “LALISA” has just become the first K-pop track by a solo artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify.
The song proved to be such a big hit on the streaming platform that it was released as her second solo single on 9 November 2021.
And less than two years later, it’s been played more than ONE BILLION times by her fans around the globe.
Like her fellow BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Jennie and Rosé, Lisa has been enjoying much success as a solo artist.
She’s got 10.68 million monthly Spotify listeners and as of 21 September, “MONEY” has amassed 1,002,683,408 streams.
BLACKPINK’s best-performing track on the platform, “How You Like That”, had racked up 855.7 million streams by that date.
The music video for “MONEY” is also one of the most popular videos ever shared on the BLACKPINK YouTube account, with a whopping 904 million views.
Lisa and BLACKPINK are no strangers to setting records with their music.
