On September 21 EST, the global girl group launching project ‘A2K‘ (‘America2Korea‘) wrapped up with the selection of its 6 finalists – Camila (18, Montreal), Lexi (17, from Milwaukee), Savanna (17, Fort Lauderdale), Kendall (17, Fort Worth), KG (16, Los Angeles), and Kaylee (13, Philadelphia).

Since the end of the girl group survival project, these six finalists have been training in secret at JYP Entertainment headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. A joint girl group launched by JYP Entertainment and Republic Records, the girls have been given the team name VCHA (pronounced vit-chaa), which means to “point a light toward something” in Korean.

To announce their formation, VCHA have decided to release a pre-debut single, ‘SeVit (NEW LIGHT)‘, alongside the finale of ‘A2K’. The single’s title track “Y.O.Universe” is an up-tempo pop track produced by J.Y. Park and Cirkut, capturing the journeys of the contestants of ‘A2K’ and delivering a message of self-love and self-confidence. The single additionally features “Go Getter” and “Know Me Like That“, the two final round songs previously shown on ‘A2K’.

You can get to know the six members of JYP Entertainment’s first official American girl group, VCHA, by watching the full MV for “Y.O.Universe”, above! The girls plan to make appearances on domestic music programs soon, performing “Y.O.Universe” for the first time live.
