K-Pop sensation Aoora is establishing a strong presence in India. The singer is set to appear on a reality television show, as revealed in a promo by the show’s makers. The official Instagram handle of ColorsTV hinted at the surprise entry of a K-Pop sensation in the caption, “Jab hogi wild card entry of the biggest K-Pop sensation, tab badal jaayegi ghar ke andar ki situation”. The promo video featured only a partial face of Aoora, who sang the track Woh Kisna Hai and spoke in Hindi, “Janam se videsi, but dil se ekdum desi”.
Who is Aoora?
Aoora gained popularity in India with his rendition of the iconic song Jimmy Jimmy starring Mithun Chakraborty. The new version combined Indian music elements with K-Pop, earning praise from fans. Last year, his rendition of Swag Se Swagat received a million views, and he also performed a string of concerts in India as part of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and South Korea. During his concert in Mathura, he sang ‘Woh Kisna Hai’ and shared his love for Indian culture, performing Korean renditions of popular Bollywood songs.
Aoora, also known as Park Min-jun, is a South Korean singer and composer who was a member of the South Korean boy band Double-A. He made his debut on September 4, 2009, and his solo debut on March 28, 2014, with the digital single Body Part.
