Aoora, the Kpop Sensation, to Surprise Audiences with a Wild Card Entry on Salman Khan’s Show

Bigg Boss 17: South Korean Kpop artist Aoora renowned for his unique take on Bollywood classics, is seemingly set to enter the Bigg Boss house as a wild card entrant. The announcement was made on December 7 by JioCinema, the platform hosting the popular reality show. While the makers did not reveal the name or face, it was evident that Aoora is making an entry. Aoora has been steadily building a fanbase in India, winning hearts with his renditions of Bollywood gems like ‘Jimmy Jimmy’ and ‘Yeh Shaam Mastaani’.

The news of his entry into Bigg Boss marks a significant moment in the show’s history, as Aoora becomes the first South Korean artist to participate in the reality show.

The channel shared the exciting update with K-pop enthusiasts, stating, “K-Pop fans assemble! Kyunki mohalle mein aane wala hai aapka favourite star for the first time in Bigg Boss’s history.” This revelation adds a new dimension to the diverse mix of contestants on the show, which already includes musician Munawar Faruqui.

In an interview with Rolling Stone India, Aoora expressed his eagerness to become a household name in India. Having been a part of the K-pop scene since 2009, Aoora, also known as Park Min-jun, initially gained recognition as a member of the band Double-A before embarking on a solo career in 2014.

While Aoora has released impactful singles like ‘Twerk’ in 2020, it’s his recent exploration of Bollywood classics that has endeared him to Indian audiences. His mashups of iconic Eighties hits like ‘Auva Auva’ and ‘Jimmy Jimmy’, both composed by the legendary Bappi Lahiri and released through Saregama, have garnered widespread acclaim. Aoora continued his musical journey with a rendition of ‘Yeh Shaam Mastaani’ in August, showcasing his versatility and appreciation for Indian music.

In the interview with Rolling Stone India, Aoora revealed his inspiration behind delving into Bollywood classics, stating, “I became familiar with Indian music almost a year back when I first heard the ‘Cham Cham’ song. I felt the energy of Indian songs – not just Bollywood but also Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi – matched with my energy and liking. I started exploring more Indian music. I wanted to explore a music genre where I could bring both Indian and Kpop music elements together. That is when we approached Saregama with this idea. They were enthusiastic about this experiment, and that’s how this new journey started for me.”

As Aoora prepares to enter the Bigg Boss house, fans eagerly anticipate witnessing his dynamic personality and musical prowess in the unique setting of the reality show. With his fusion of K-pop and Bollywood, Aoora is set to leave an indelible mark on Indian audiences and further solidify his status as a global musical sensation.
