“I think it’s great,” and he replied, “Okay, let’s do it.” I really liked it, so I didn’t hesitate. And actually, it was the first song that I recorded as P NATION. I wanted to release a message about self-love and I thought this song would be perfect for that. I always have so much to share with my fans, and I wanted to express that through this song. Jeff Benjamin: This idea of self-love and expressing yourself freely seems to be a recurring theme for you. What do you hope people take away from this message and its connection to your artistry? HWASA: I think I want to deliver this message to a lot of people through my music; I think it’s very important. There are a lot of other important messages, but this is one of the ones I think is the most important for me. I’d like to be remembered for my music where I was able to help somebody—with a song, a lyric or a concert. I think that’s the most important thing. I want people to remember that I delivered happy, positive energy and that I loved it. And that’s why I’m doing my best every time I release something, to deliver something positive for everyone.
