aespa recently appeared in a new Rolling Stone YouTube video, where the girl group and American singer Grimes interviewed each other about music, using AI in the industry, and more.
During the video, Grimes asked aespa about working together and the potential for conflict. Karina responded by explaining how despite having different personalities, the four members of aespa work well together because they understand and respect each other. She then went on to mention that there are K-pop groups that don’t have the same harmonious dynamic, without specifically naming any.
Karina’s comments about other K-pop groups have received a mixed reception from fans. Some netizens in Korea are unhappy with the way she handled the question, stating that she shouldn’t have mentioned it in the interview. On the other hand, some fans have come to her defense, believing that she was simply emphasizing aespa’s positive working relationship.
