SEOUL — Alexaundra Christine Schneiderman, an American singer and dancer better known by her stage name AleXa, will join a popular annual concert tour hosted by a United States-based online radio station. The 26-year-old will showcase her performances with global artists including Jamaican-American reggae rapper Shaggy and Big Time Rush, an American boy band.
AleXa received immense popularity in May 2022 for winning an American TV channel NBC’s music competition called “American Song Contest,” where she competed with 55 American artists including veteran singers Michael Bolton and Macy Gray. In October 2022, she held solo concerts in eight U.S. cities including San Juan, Atlanta, and Chicago.
iHeartRadio, a U.S.-based free internet radio platform, said AleXa will take part in this year’s Jingle Ball tour, an annual end-of-the-year concert. The singer will perform various songs including her latest single “Juliet” at concerts scheduled on November 28 in Dallas and December 16 in Miami.
Rapper Psy, who garnered global attention with his hit song “Gangnam Style,” was the first K-pop solo artist to perform on the Jingle Ball tour. Boy band Monsta X was the first K-pop group to perform at the famous concert tour.
AleXa was born and raised in Oklahoma to a mother of Korean descent and a father of American-Russian descent. She gained recognition through “Produce 48,” a South Korean cable TV survival music contest show in 2018. The singer made her solo debut in 2019 with “Bomb,” a digital single album. She debuted in the U.S. under a contract with ICM Partners, a global talent agency based in Los Angeles, in 2020.
