BLACKPINK’s Jennie has made her solo debut on the United Kingdom’s Official Singles Chart!
On October 13 local time, the Official Charts (widely regarded as the U.K. equivalent to Billboard’s U.S. charts) announced that Jennie’s new single “You & Me” had debuted at No. 39 on its Official Singles Chart—marking her very first time entering the chart as a solo artist.
Notably, “You & Me” is only the second song by a female K-pop soloist ever to enter the top 40 of the Official Singles Chart. The only other female K-pop soloist to achieve the feat to date is Jennie’s bandmate Jisoo, whose solo debut track “FLOWER” entered the chart at No. 38 this past April.
“You & Me” also debuted at No. 1 on both the Official Singles Sales chart and the Official Singles Downloads Chart this week, making Jennie the first female K-pop soloist ever to top either chart.
Congratulations to Jennie!
