BTS’ Jungkook Breaks Record For Biggest Streaming Year By K-pop Soloist In Spotify History
Jungkook’s solo album might have not dropped yet, however, the BTS star is already setting numerous records across the globe. After taking over the Spotify, YouTube and Billboard charts with his digital singles, the Seven singer has broken a major Spotify record.
Jungkook makes Spotify history
Jungkook has broken the record for the biggest streaming year for a K-pop soloist in Spotify’s history with over 1.8 billion streams. Yes, you read that right! The BTS star might be dropping his solo album in November this year, however, thanks to his digital singles Seven, 3D, Left And Right, Dreamers and more Jungkook was able to achieve this feat.
ARMY were quick to celebrate the feat! Dubbing him the ‘Spotify King,’ one fan wrote, “The most successful K-pop soloist, indeed!” Another added, “Do you wanna hear a cool fact? Jungkook broke this record 27 days before his first solo debut album release, even before his own solo album. And ONLY 2 releases this year yet! Jungkook is such a king,” while a third tweeted, “We are so happy and proud of all your success King!”
Jungkook’s professional life
In July 2023, Jungkook made his solo debut with his digital single, Seven. After that, the singer released his second single, 3D, on September 29. Following much buzz, Jungkook finally revealed that he would be dropping his first solo album, Golden, on November 3 this year. If reports are anything to go by, the BTS star’s solo album will be completely in English. Aside from his music career, the Seven singer was appointed as the global brand ambassador for luxury fashion brand Calvin Klein earlier this year. He also recently turned creative director for the October issue of Vogue Korea.
