In an interview with portal Billboard, group member Minnie shared that the EP was dedicated to their American fans.
“It’s our debut EP in the United States so we’re super excited about this, and we just wrapped up our US tour.
“Our fans have been so supportive, we think that it’s about time to give back and be more connected to them so we came up with this album,” she said.
She added that recording Heat was challenging as it was their first EP in English; however they had fun working on it.
The girl group previously dropped mini albums in Korean and Japanese languages.
Meanwhile, member Yuqi said that their sounds in the new EP will be different from their previous efforts.
“All the songs, you guys can have my word, it’s really, totally different styles we have never tried.
“I think it’s gonna be cool. I hope our fans can love it,” she said.
(G)I-DLE is currently in the midst of their I Am FREE-TY World Tour which began in June 2023.
The group is set to headline local K-pop music festival 9 Wave Music Festival in Sunway Lagoon on November 11.
