Beat Saber has a truly excellent original soundtrack, along with some great licensed song packs, but what makes the game special is downloading modded versions of your favorite songs. Mappers have created stages for songs in every genre imaginable, but one group that has it especially good is the K-pop fans.
Not only is there a wide variety of K-pop maps to choose from, but the genre’s upbeat, catchy tunes make for some of the most fun maps available in Beat Saber. Thanks to the community of incredibly talented mappers, now you can enjoy grooving and flowing along to your favorite K-pop hits.
10 Pop/Stars By K/DA
K/DA’s Pop/Stars was one of the earliest licensed songs to hit Beat Saber and remains one of the most loved maps by the community to this day. While the official version of the song also comes along with some fun visual theming, fans of the virtual girl group known as K/DA might also want to check out an unofficial map of the song by modder MinorSetback.
This stage is slightly more difficult than the official version, as it has more crossovers and walls to contend with. It might be controversial to say that this version has better flow, but you will have to test that out for yourself.
9 Fancy By Twice
For years, Twice was best known as the cutesy girl group of K-pop’s third generation, or at least until 2019 when they released Fancy, the track that began their shift toward more mature concepts as the members got older.
Fancy still maintained Twice’s signature catchiness, however, and the song’s upbeat tempo and thumping beat make for a perfect tune to groove along to. Sotark’s custom Beat Saber map for Fancy is fast-paced and perfectly matches the building energy of the song, making for a great stage to try when you feel that you’ve honed your skills a bit.
8 DDU-DU DDU-DU By Blackpink
DDU-DU DDU-DU is an older song on Blackpink’s discography, yet it remains at the forefront of their most popular tracks due to its insane production and addictive choreography. Get ready for some flurries and crossovers, because Heinsenbergirl did not pull any punches while creating this map.
The fast-paced raps in the second verse come along with a slew of notes in quick succession that can be pretty overwhelming, so make sure to try out the game’s built-in practice features before trying your hand at this one full speed.
7 Boy With Luv By BTS (Ft. Halsey)
BTS, a K-pop group so big they have their own video game, has collaborated with several Western artists, but their song Boy With Luv featuring Halsey has to be the most beloved of them all. This song is a bit slower than the average Beat Saber track, allowing for some space to chill out and feel the groove of the song.
It’s perfect if you’re just starting to get used to the Expert+ difficulty. The notes are placed to accent the beats in this song in an especially satisfying way, making SimplyMarvellous’ map of Boy With Luv another excellent track for achieving a flow state.
6 Love Shot By EXO
Upon first listening, EXO’s Love Shot doesn’t seem like it would make for the best of Beat Saber maps because it’s a slower song, focused more on the restrained vibe of the music over a heavy beat and frenetic choreography. That makes for a Beat Saber map where it’s not easy to stay afloat if you find yourself struggling halfway through.
This does make it extra satisfying once you nail this song, however. Despite the frustration that its difficulty can bring, thanks to mapper Aggrogahu it’s worth it to finally reach the end, or even better, hit the SS rank.
5 What Is Love? By Twice
As one of Twice’s most upbeat title tracks, What Is Love? has been a fan favorite since its release in 2018. Sometimes you need a happy song to remind you of the disappointment of failing repeatedly on Expert+, and What Is Love? is certainly a nice distraction from that. Twice has probably saved a love of VR controllers, when you think about it.
While there are some flurries in this map, Sotark did an excellent job of creating a map that balances challenge and a relaxed, easy-flowing feeling. This mapper has already proven themselves to the Beat Saber-playing K-pop fans, but this stage is easily some of Sotark’s best work.
4 Fantastic Baby By BIGBANG
BIGBANG may not be a household name these days, but they were probably the most influential male K-pop group of the second generation. To put it simply: BIGBANG walked so groups like BTS could run.
Fantastic Baby is one of BIGBANG’s most popular songs, and its electronic influences make for a perfect match with Beat Saber’s style considering its similarities to some of the game’s most popularly mapped genres like electro swing. Joetastic’s excellent mapping skills will bring old fans and new players alike back to the nostalgic days of EDM-inspired pop.
3 I Am The Best By 2NE1
2NE1 is the girl group that paved the way in the second K-pop generation. Their track I Am The Best is easily their most well-known song, seeing as it was one of the earliest Korean hits to break into the Western mainstream. It’s got a heavy EDM beat and a catchy hook, which means it could have been bred in a lab to make for the ideal Beat Saber experience.
Funrankable’s map hits every beat of the song and has players swinging their arms all over the place with crossovers and upward-facing notes. This is a stage that requires a lot of body control to complete, so it’s best suited for those who feel more confident in their Beat Saber skills.
2 Pink Venom By Blackpink
While it was a lead song off of their second full album, Blackpink’s Pink Venom isn’t always their most memorable song. However, mapper Aggrogahu made one of the best K-pop Beat Saber maps using this minimalist pop banger.
This stage has some incredible flow and accents the beats of the song quite nicely. It’s not one of those maps that’s concerned with flashy patterns or breakneck speed, and it’s all the better for it. If you’re looking for your first-ever SS rank should check out this map.
1 Gangnam Style By Psy
Gangnam Style is probably one of the most instantly recognizable songs in the world. Its universality makes it a perfect song to have in your Beat Saber lineup, especially if you like playing with friends.
GreatYazer’s Gangnam Style map goes the extra mile by not only being a blast to play but by actually making you replicate the song’s iconic dance moves. Whether you’re a seasoned K-pop stan or only recognize this song from its viral days, this is a map you won’t want to miss.
